BREATHE Center

The Baltimore Breathe Center was formed over 20 years ago, and was originally known as the Johns Hopkins Center for Childhood Asthma in the Urban Environment. The Breathe Center has evolved to study the effects of environment on lung health and specific lung diseases throughout life. The Breathe Center is run by a group of physicians, scientists, and trainees who work every day to fulfill the Center’s mission of advocating for lung health through important research and community engagement.

About Us

We are a Center dedicated to pulmonary health and impacting lung-related health and health disparities through research, community engagement, and advocacy.

Promote the science and medicine of lung health by interfacing with the community and citizens - both locally and globally.

Lead the way in the research of lung disease and how environmental influences affect pulmonary health. By focusing on quality research and transparent scientific findings, we strive to engage the community through education efforts.

We are a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, scientists, administrative staff and community members dedicated to research and clinical improvement in lung disease and management.
